Our Mission

FLAME @ Bernstein High School’s mission is to deliver a rigorous, industry‑aligned creative arts education that empowers students to become skilled, innovative, and expressive creators.  We develop students’ technical expertise, storytelling ability, leadership and professional discipline.   In partnership with families, community organizations, industry leaders, and colleges, our students graduate as confident visionaries prepared for success in college, careers, and the modern creative economy.

Our students are published authors, with their book available for purchase at Stories Books & Café in Echo Park. This achievement is made possible through the Paramount Mentorship Program in partnership with the nonprofit 826LA.

Apply Now for 2026-2027 School Choice Programs

The late Choices application for next school year (2026-2027) is now open. Late applications are added to the waitlist in the order received. The Zones of Choice application for both school years, 2025-2026 and 2026-2027, will remain open through September 30, 2026.
