Biography
As a dedicated educator in CTE and Mathematics, I bring over 15 years of experience with a passion for inspiring students to achieve their fullest potential. Born and raised in Los Angeles, I began my career in radio, music, and film—experiences that laid the foundation for my creative teaching approach that seamlessly combines the arts with rigorous academics.
I earned a BA in Business and an MA in Education from the University of Southern California, and in 2022, I earned a BA in Educational Leadership. Throughout my career, I have taught a variety of courses, including Generative Art & Design, Computer Programming & Game Design, Computer Science, Algebra 1 & 2, Geometry, Precalculus, and Calculus. In addition to my classroom roles, I serve as a WASC Chairperson, remaining deeply committed to upholding the highest standards of academic excellence.
In 2018, following the launch of the Cinematic Arts & Creative Technologies Magnet program at Helen Bernstein, I was appointed as the Magnet Coordinator. My leadership extended further with the initiation of the Linked Learning program in 2022, which contributed to our magnet program earning the Magnet School of Distinction Award in 2024 and the Magnet School of Excellence Award in 2025. Additionally, I serve as a Magnet Leadership Advisor and Esports Coach, further enriching student engagement and our school culture.
My teaching philosophy centers on creating an engaging, hands-on learning environment that connects classroom knowledge to real-world challenges. Passionate about integrating the arts, technology, and mathematics, I encourage my students to explore, build, experiment, and be creative in their problem-solving. By fostering collaboration and critical thinking, I strive to equip my students with the skills necessary to thrive in a rapidly evolving digital landscape. My hope is that my commitment to lifelong learning and innovation continues to inspire both students and colleagues alike.
