Biography
As a dedicated National Board Certified educator, I bring over 15 years of experience and a strong commitment to inspiring students to reach their fullest potential. Born and raised in Los Angeles, I began my career in radio, music, and film. These experiences shaped my creative approach to teaching and allow me to meaningfully integrate the arts with rigorous academic content.
I earned a BA in Business and an MA in Education from the University of Southern California, and in 2022, I earned a BA in Educational Leadership. Throughout my career, I have taught a wide range of courses, including Generative Art and Design, Computer Programming and Game Design, Computer Science, Algebra 1 and 2, Geometry, Precalculus, and Calculus. In addition to my classroom roles, I serve as a WASC Chairperson and remain deeply committed to maintaining high standards of academic quality and continuous school improvement.
In 2018, following the launch of the Cinematic Arts and Creative Technologies Magnet program at Helen Bernstein, I was appointed as Magnet Coordinator. My leadership expanded with the initiation of the Linked Learning program in 2022, which contributed to our magnet earning the Magnet School of Distinction Award in 2024 and the Magnet School of Excellence Award in 2025. I also serve as a Magnet Leadership Advisor and Esports Coach, further supporting student engagement and strengthening school culture.
My teaching philosophy centers on creating engaging, hands on learning experiences that connect classroom learning to real world challenges. I am passionate about integrating the arts, technology, and mathematics to encourage students to explore, build, experiment, and think creatively. By emphasizing collaboration and critical thinking, I aim to equip students with the skills they need to thrive in an evolving digital world. I hope my ongoing commitment to innovation and professional growth continues to positively impact both students and colleagues.
